Radon mitigation in Colerain Township, OH

Half of Colerain Township's homes were built between 1947 and 1967. The township's housing plan put the median home at close to 50 years old and counted 81 percent of units as single-family houses, so the usual radon job here is a postwar basement now roughly 60 to 80 years old, commonly on a slab poured with no membrane beneath it and carrying decades of shrinkage cracks, each one a soil-gas path to seal. Subdivisions built since then more often come with a sump that can double as the suction point. With about half its land wooded and 15 percent farmed as of 1990, the township can also turn up rural houses where a crawl space or an older foundation calls for a membrane or wall sealing rather than a single floor penetration.
